There’s an art to making real people sound like real people in an ad. 

You’re looking for a strong, clear point—in 30 seconds—from someone who’s had no preparation and no experience in front of the camera. It helps to ask the right questions. And it helps to listen carefully. Testimonials are essentially interviews.

We shot the iPhone and Obama ads with Errol Morris, the undisputed master of the form.


Count Me In is a new approach to cancer research that allows patients to advance progress on their disease, simply by sharing their clinical records and tissue samples with scientists.

This was a tough shoot. Every person we interviewed was living with a terminal diagnosis. They spoke directly, movingly, and so generously.
